Cross Roads Community Church, located in Missouri City, Texas was founded by Dr. Christopher F. Hartwell on September 9, 2001. The first worship service was held at Challenger Elementary School in Pearland, Texas with over three hundred excited believers present for this momentous occasion. During the 14 months of worshiping at Challenger we began to experience rapid growth and decided that it was time to venture out and look for a place to call our own.
Shortly after, the church relocated to a business park on Miller Ranch Road with 10,000 sq. ft. of worship space to accommodate what others were calling “the fastest growing church in Pearland”. Twelve ministries were implemented along with a thriving youth church that boasted a weekly attendance of over 150 students every Sunday. As membership continued to expand, to allow every person that came through the doors the opportunity to hear God’s word, we started a second service and a mid-week bible study.
After being on Miller Ranch Road for quite some time, Cross Roads initiated a Tribal Campaign and purchased 78 acres of land in Manvel, Texas. Shortly thereafter, a “Digging in Fruitful Places” Capital Stewardship Campaign began in hopes to build a worship facility big enough to accommodate a thriving congregation. Little to our knowledge, God, in the midst of our planning was preparing to point us in another direction.
After much prayer and seeking God for the next move, in October 2006, God pointed us to a facility equipped with everything we needed to continue going forth in ministry. Housed on 22 acres, it had 3 fully equipped operational buildings and is now known as Cross Roads Community Church-Pearland.
Then, the world was impacted by COVID-19. With the grace of God, CRCC was able to weather the pandemic. After much prayer, God directed Crossroads Community Church to Missouri City, Texas. This move has pointed the people of Crossroads Community Church to the “Road of Recovery”
Here at Cross Roads, our philosophy is that we exist to empower believers to discover their purpose, embrace their destiny, experience the ministry of restoration and keep balance through recreation. The mission of the church is to equip, empower and encourage a community of believers with timeless principles that are practical, biblically sound and culturally relevant; so that believers and the un-churched can establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, commitment to church membership, and Christian stewardship.
We offer one worship service on Sunday, at 9:00 am. Mid-day bible study is held on zoom every Tuesday at 12:00 pm. Each service is designed to meet your spiritual needs.
As you journey with us to higher heights and deeper depths, remember to stay encouraged for the Lord is with you.
